Greta Green Fabric Pendant Lamp

I wanted to bring a little colour into the living room without choosing anything too bright. The deep green shade feels sophisticated and works beautifully with our oak furniture and cream walls.

We hung this above a small side table beside the sofa and it has completely finished the area. The green fabric softens the light nicely and gives the corner a warmer, more intimate feel.

The shade has enough depth to be noticeable, but it is still muted and elegant. It has become a really nice focal point without competing with the artwork or furniture underneath.

From across the room you notice the fabric drum first, but underneath there is much more going on. The stepped pale sections give the pendant extra depth and make it feel far more designed than a standard fabric shade.

I was slightly nervous about introducing a coloured shade, but it sits surprisingly well with neutrals, timber and black accents. It adds interest without making the room feel themed around green.

I really like the contrast between the fabric, pale inner layers and darker timber element. That mix of materials gives the pendant a more natural, collected character.

I had looked at plenty of plain fabric shades before finding this. The unusual layered shape underneath gives it personality while the outer shade keeps the overall silhouette calm and easy to live with.

The green shade and warm central detail have a subtle retro feel, but the shape is clean enough that it does not look like a reproduction. It works brilliantly with our low wooden furniture.

In daylight you can see the weave in the shade, which stops the green from feeling too flat. In the evening it becomes deeper and gives the room a really cosy atmosphere.

I wanted something softer than metal or glass overhead and this has exactly that effect. The fabric makes the space feel relaxed, while the layered centre keeps the design from becoming too plain.

The pale stepped sections underneath create a really satisfying layered effect when you are sitting beneath the pendant. That extra detail makes it feel much more substantial than a straightforward fabric light.

The shade naturally collects a little dust over time, so I give it a quick clean now and then. That is a very minor maintenance point though, and I am still extremely pleased with how warm and distinctive the pendant looks.
