I wanted something narrow and sculptural rather than a conventional pendant shade. The long stone body has a beautiful calm presence, and the subtle veining becomes much more noticeable once the light is on.
Ours has a fine darker vein running through one side of the stone, which gives the pendant a lot of character. I like that it does not look completely uniform or mass-produced.
We hung one on each side of the bed and they look beautifully balanced without taking up any table space. The slim proportions keep the room feeling light and uncluttered.
I was hoping for something gentler than clear glass, and this is exactly right. The stone diffuses the light beautifully and makes the bedroom feel much calmer in the evening.
I used this beside a reading chair where a larger shade would have felt awkward. The vertical shape fits the space perfectly and gives the corner a much more intentional look.
The design is extremely simple, but the material gives it all the interest it needs. Once lit, the alabaster becomes warmer and slightly translucent, which looks beautiful against our darker wall.
I did not want anything decorative or bulky beside the bed. This pendant adds warmth and texture while keeping the whole wall very clean and contemporary.
I had not expected the vertical proportion to change the room so much, but it really draws the eye upward. It works especially well in our compact guest room.
Our room is mostly cream, taupe and walnut, and the alabaster sits naturally with all of those tones. It adds texture without bringing in another strong colour.
I like that the stone is the main focus, but the warm-toned fitting above gives the pendant a more polished look. It is subtle, but it makes the whole design feel more refined.
During the day the natural stone pattern is still visible and gives the pendant a sculptural quality. At night the warm glow changes the mood completely and makes the veining stand out more.
The stone on mine has slightly stronger markings towards the lower section than I expected, but I actually like the individuality. Once illuminated it looks gorgeous, so that small difference is my only reason for four stars.
