Inspiration

The Oakenstone Flush Mount Ceiling Light is a garden flower pressed up against the ceiling. Each glazed ceramic shade takes a different bloom — an open cone. a scalloped dome. a five-petal bell — and every one is capped with a small yellow fringed collar. like the sepals under a flower. The shade sits directly on a round ceramic canopy with no cord or stem between. so the whole fixture is ceramic. Lit from within. the glaze sends light straight down. which is why this glazed ceramic flower flush mount light was designed for a hallway. closet. or small bedroom with a low ceiling.

FAQ

How low a ceiling will it work on?

The tallest style drops only 20.5cm/8.1″ from the ceiling. so even on a 2.2m/7 ft ceiling there is about 2m/6.5 ft of clearance underneath — fine for a hallway or closet.

Which style throws the most light?

The Style A cone is widest and shallowest. so the bulb sits nearly at the rim and light spreads across the floor; the dome and bell hold the bulb deeper for a tighter pool.

Does light come through the ceramic?

No. Glazed ceramic is opaque. so all the light exits the open bottom; the shade outside shows only a soft sheen from the room's light.

Are the colors painted on?

They are fired glazes. not paint. so the blue. pink. white. and yellow won't chip or fade with cleaning. Small glaze variations between pieces are normal.
